Set of Universal Drill Guides - Distal part of the humerus - Cat

The lateral part of the condyle of the humerus protects the humerus from the side and connects to the head of the radius bone. A fracture occurs when an animal jumps or falls. There is then a transfer of forces acting on the radius bone to the condyle. In parallel, the ulna behaves like a wedge splitting the bone into two or more fragments. Surgical treatment should achieve anatomical congruence of the articular surfaces and permanent stabilization of the fracture, which will allow the elbow joint to recover quickly and limit the development of osteoarthritis.

The guide allows precise guidance of the 1.8mm drill to achieve an anatomically correct treatment. The device can be fixed to bone with repositioning forceps or Kirchner wires with a diameter of 1mm.

Set includes:

• five sizes of guides for each side, based on research of European domestic cat humerus morphometry - 95/100/105/110/115mm humerus length
• set of bone models intended for presurgical plates contouring - 5 sizes of each side
• sterilization container
• 2 spare guides of each size as a starter-pack (30 guides in total)

By means of providing highest accuracy and surgery safety, guides should be treated as a single usage device (single spare guides available for existing customers). Nonetheless, products can be steam sterilized at 121*C - endurance of minimum 10 cycles.
